About Me

My name is Ann, also known as Mimi and I created Stories of Tanzania from a place of curiosity, respect, and a growing love for the stories, foods, traditions, and everyday life connected to Tanzania.

I am not from Tanzania, and this website is not meant to speak for Tanzanian people. Instead, it is a place where I can share the things I am learning, the stories that inspire me, and the connections I have discovered through food, family traditions, and the Rooted2Gather journey.

What began with recipes and East African-inspired cooking grew into something much larger. I found myself drawn to the stories behind the ingredients, the role of family and community, the beauty of everyday traditions, and the ways food can carry memories from one generation to another.

Through Stories of Tanzania, I hope to create a warm space where readers can discover stories about nature, family, food, gratitude, community, and tradition. Some stories are imaginative, some are inspired by cultural traditions, and all are created with the intention of encouraging curiosity and respect.

This project is also connected to Rooted2Gather, where food, family, storytelling, and community meet around the table.

For me, this journey is about listening, learning, and remembering that every culture has stories worth treating with care.

Welcome to Stories of Tanzania. I’m glad you’re here. πŸŒΏπŸŒπŸ“–
